the Milky Way galaxy to make contact with intelligent life. Against his
will. As he had dryly noted to his pals before leaving, "I'm sure I'll
be a smash wherever I go."
His
spacecraft developed a technical snag and crash-landed somewhere on the
third planet in the Solar System. He has been on Earth since.

Vymee,
which is a close approximation of his name back home was informed that
the dominant species on the planet were humans. In the time that
followed he has changed his opinion on the meaning of the phrase
"Intelligent Life."
He maintains a low opinion on the intellect of
an average human and is desperately searching for replacement parts to
get back home.

While on the planet, however, he has to work for
food and supplies. Given his lack of interest in physical labour and
labour in general, he is happy to use only his mind. While that might
be tiring for most of us, Vymee's IQ by human standards is off the
charts. He's fluent in many languages and his knowledge of English
spelling, grammar and pronunciation beats all humans. (Even though he's
been here for a short while and most of that time, without TV.) So the
demands made by his masters (humans) are small on his incredible
intellect.

As it happens with all of us, mundane tasks bored
Vymee to bits. Consequently Vymee has developed a sullen attitude
towards his tasks unless it really amounts to a challenge for his
mighty brain. Given his attitude, he is frequently found to be rude and
sometimes downright nasty to people. Unless of course you are nasty
back, which he sees as a sign of true intelligence.

He aches for
only two things. No not his girlfriend back home, intelligent
conversation and chocolate. Conversation because it is in the form of
brainwaves which is what he feeds on (unlike humans he doesn't need
Carbon based food) and Chocolate, because well, it's nice.

His philosophy can be summed up as "Nothing travels faster than bad news."
Which is a quote by the late Douglas Adams, one of the few 23 chromosomed bipeds that Vymee respects.
